Sunday, April 29th brought me to Crossroads Assembly and Pastor Dwayne Potter. Waterloo is a great community that with being close to Cedar Rapids and Cedar Falls and Univ. of Northern Iowa, is a surprise community to people not familiar with Iowa.

I had one of those “DUH” moments while out to eat with pastor and his wife, as they shared about their children, I know of one of their children who married a sharp a gal out of Staci’s home church in Sioux City, IA. I just never made the connection with the same last names, it was just one of those “Duh” moments, you feel like, How did I miss that before? Ha too funny.

The Potter’s are such neat people and a great people pastors, they would be right there by you in some of those rough moments that only life can bring. They are Shepherds! Walking with their flock!

Anytime I can get back to iowa is special, because: 1. Staci’s home state, 2. two of our first ministry places was in Iowa. So Iowa will always be a special place. So i am grateful for God to open this opportunity to be in Waterloo this past Sunday! Thanks pastor for making this Sunday happen!!
Having our ministry credentials in Wisconsin/N. Michigan the summit allows us to once a year get back and see many friends, pastors who are contributing to our missions efforts. A bulk of our monthly support comes from this district and the balance has come from others across the nation as we have connected together with others.

This summit marked 4 years since we have stepped out of our role in Wisconsin/N. Michigan and into our national role which came just after, our friend, Larry Liebe, was elected to become the District Superintendent. At this summit, Larry was re-elected with a resounding vote, over 95%, which is amazing! The theme for this next year is Engage, and how as a fellowship of churches, we can become engaged with one another as ministers but also how we can engage our churches with one another and keep engaging our culture and community.

What great vision! Which is so necessary in the days in which we live!!! Thank you Wisconsin/N. Michigan churches for your input into our lives and the vision to reach students for Christ across the nation!!

Kim has had a significant impact on Youth Alive. Kim traveled with me and my predecessor in Wisconsin/N. Michigan in our early years helping to do training events and help students start and revitalize their Campus Clubs.

Kim and Jenny came to Harvestime 7 years ago to be the Lead Pastor. They walked into a church that was fragmented and hurting, it was exciting to be see the healing that has taken place in the church and the visions to reach out and touch the community and schools in a fresh way. I am so ecited for what God has ahead for the Harvestime and fun to see my friend in the lead pastor role and how God is using him today.

Thank you Kim and Harvestime for your generosity and being with you and give an update on our ministry.
He is not here; He is risen! And in that moment, joy replaced despair, hope pushed past fear, and life conquered deathnot just that day, but for eternity. Calvary is a church that is just over 20 years old and is re-building, re-focussing on their vision and values and how it reaches out to the community.

Dan and Phyllis have done a great job in bringing faith and energy to a church that could have easily closed. You can certainly feel that God has called them here. Pray for Calvary as they are endeavoring an Easter Outreach with a great presentation called “The Thorn”.

It really is amazing from the Kuno’s time at Trinity College in Ellendale, ND. We have so many people from over the years that we both know, even from my home in Gering, NE.
God has such great things enstore for Calvary; a great healthy atmosphere, a great skilled staff, passion and faith in God to see a lot accomplished. These are exciting moments for this church as it begins to grow over 100. I am excited for you Dan! Great days are ahead!
